Dallas Mavericks Roster Breakdown: Key Additions and Departures
Unveiling the 2023-24 Lineup
As the NBA season approaches, anticipation is building for the upcoming Dallas Mavericks roster. The team has undergone significant changes under new head coach Jason Kidd, with several key additions and departures.
Point Guards
The Mavericks have retained the services of their starting point guard, Luka Dončić. The Slovenian sensation is widely considered one of the best young players in the league and will be looking to build on his MVP-caliber season. Josh Green and Tyrell Terry will provide depth at the position.
Shooting Guards
The biggest addition to the roster is Christian Wood, who will be starting at shooting guard. Wood is a versatile wing who can score in bunches and is a strong rebounder. Tim Hardaway Jr., who missed much of last season with a foot injury, is expected to return as the backup shooting guard.
Power Forwards
Maxi Kleber, Dorian Finney-Smith, and JaVale McGee will all be returning to the Mavericks' frontcourt. Kleber and Finney-Smith are reliable defenders, while McGee brings a veteran presence and rim protection.
Small Forwards
Reggie Bullock, who was a key contributor to the team's run to the Western Conference Finals, has departed for the Miami Heat. The Mavericks have not yet announced a full-time replacement, but Jaden Hardy and Josh Richardson could see increased minutes at small forward.
