Croatian Footballer Josip Stanišić Goes on Loan to Bayer 04 Leverkusen
Bayern Munich's Future Star Departs Temporarily
Josip Stanišić, the Croatian right-back who currently plays for Bundesliga giants FC Bayern Munich, has been loaned out to Bayer 04 Leverkusen for the remainder of the season.
This move comes as a surprise to many, as Stanišić has been a regular starter for Bayern this season, making 15 appearances in all competitions. However, with the impending return of Benjamin Pavard from injury, it appears that Stanišić has fallen down the pecking order at Bayern.
Stanišić joined Bayern from Dinamo Zagreb in 2019 and has since established himself as one of the most promising young defenders in Europe. He has represented Croatia at the Under-19 and Under-21 levels and is expected to be a key player for the national team in the years to come.
Bayer Leverkusen are currently 10th in the Bundesliga table and will be hoping that Stanišić can help them improve their form. The Werkself have conceded 35 goals in 19 league games this season, so Stanišić's defensive qualities will be welcomed.
