Heavy Delays Along the M40 as 'Overturned HGV' Causes Roads to Be Blocked

Delays of up to 90 minutes are being reported following a collision involving an overturned HGV on the M40.

The incident occurred at around 8am between Junction 14 (Leamington Spa) and Junction 15 (Warwick).

The M40 southbound is currently closed between J14 and J15 due to the incident. Traffic is being diverted off the motorway at J14 and back on at J15. There are currently delays of around 90 minutes on the approach to the closure, and drivers are being advised to avoid the area if possible.

The HGV is reported to have overturned across both lanes of the carriageway, blocking all traffic.

Highways England and emergency services are currently on the scene, and recovery work is underway. It is not yet known when the road will reopen.

Drivers are being advised to use alternative routes if possible. The M40 is a major route between London and the West Midlands, and the closure is likely to cause significant disruption.
